Indentured servants helped the colony of Virginia to thrive. The East India Company would allow English citizens to sail on their ships over to the newly formed colonies (including Virginia) and in return the people would work as house servants for a set amount of time, usually around seven years or so, and would then be free citizens. They were primarily white individuals so they were not mistreated like slaves would be, however they did have large workloads to do because they were servants, primarily house servants.

 • The presidency of Ulysses S. Grant began on March 4, 1869, when Ulysses S. Grant was inaugurated as the 18th president of the United States, and ended on March 4, 1877. Grant took office in the aftermath of the Civil War, and he presided over much of the Reconstruction Era. A Republican, Grant became president after defeating Democrat Horatio Seymour in the 1868 presidential election. He was reelected in 1872 in a landslide victory, overcoming a split in the Republican Party that resulted in the formation of the Liberal Republicans, which nominated Horace Greeley to oppose him. He was succeeded as president by Republican Rutherford B. Hayes after the contested 1876 presidential election.

Rufina [12.5K]

Answer is give below

Explanation:

 • Due to limited land availability in South America, the South American people had to deforest the land to make more space. It promoted limited economic growth after the Second World War when South American countries took advantage of the tropical climate to grow fruits and other foods grown only in their region.
 • For example, Brazil has a coffee-based economy. This means that South American countries have not been able to develop as economically as the US has done for a long time.
