many of the women of this time were viewed to sew, clean, help with faming etc. as the 20th century approached many women began schooling and joining reform movements. the women began to increascingly enter the reforms and public life of society. they often fought for the right to vote and suffrage
The cold war originates in the emergence of USA and Soviet union as the two dominant powers and main victors of the ww2. The two nations had conflicting ideologies which they desired to spread into the world. as the ww2 closed, the two countries failed to agree on how they would treat countries that had fallen in the war such as Japan,German and several eastern Europe countries. Stalin's soviet union was aiming at expanding communism, and the USA had to contain it.

The Battle of Saratoga did not allow the British to cut off New England from the rest of the colonies.
British general John Burgoyne had proposed the plan to isolate New England from the rest of the colonies. The plan had about 8,000 British troops invading into New York from Canada and taking control of the Hudson River. The plan was initially successful -- the British took Fort Ticonderoga in June of 1777. But General Burgoyne overextended his access to supplies as he came further into Patriot territory, and the colonial forces were able to cut off his supply line. After a couple of difficult battles, Burgoyne's eventual surrender of his troops came with the loss at Saratoga in October, 1777.
