The development of mass communication spans from ancient modes of art and writing, to primitive printing technology from about 800AD; the invention of Gutenberg's printing press in 1455; the first weekly newspaper printed in Antwerp in 1605; Marconi's invention of radio in 1895; John Logie's television. Social media, or more specifically news media, plays a major role in democratic societies as they allow people to participate. Therefore, when it comes to stable political networks, it is important that the news stays accurate so that it does not impact the levels of confidence of the public.
