</span> The legislative assemblies of specific state governments were made more powerful after the revolutionary war. the revolutionary war did not end up with the USA, but with thirteen sovereign states that voluntarily voted to join the union. The American revolution gave the thirteen colonies independence from Great Britain and ushered in a new era in American history.
The goal of détente (the easing of tensions between nations) was to continue to resist and deter Soviet adventurism while striving for "more constructive relations" with the Communist world.
