Answer;
2. China and Southeast Asia.
Japan expanded her empire in the 1930s and 1940s to include parts of China and Southeast Asia

Explanation;
Japanese expansion in East Asia began in 1931 with the invasion of Manchuria and Shanghai in 1932, then continued in 1937 with a brutal attack on China. Other expansion were; Japanese expansion into Hopei in 1933, expansion into inner Mongolia in 1937.
In early 20th century Japans population rapidly increased to a point that in 1937 the population was 70 million people. The country could not sustain itself on its own because of the lack of arable land, which brought the need to expand into Manchuria (Northeast region of China).

Japan never actually attacked (so: also never conquered) the parts very far away from it: it never attacked Eastern Europe (we reject option 1), nor did it attack Turkey (we reject option 3) and it did not attack India (we reject option 4).

the correct option is the remaining one: 2.

Increases in which of the following contributed most directly to the ideas expressed in the excerpt?
Dafna11 [192]

With regard to the the text "The Americans: Reconstruction to the 21st Century" the historical development that contributed most directly to the Market Revolution is the emergence and or increase in new forms of transportation.

It is to be noted that the options referenced are unavailable hence the general answer.

What is the explanation of the above concept?

A market revolution was revolutionizing American industry and worldwide trade in the 1820s and 1830s. Independent craftspeople were progressively supplanted by factories and mass manufacturing.

Farms flourished and produced items for distant markets rather than local consumers, exporting them via cheap transportation such as the Erie Canal.

The market revolution spurred tremendous economic expansion and increased personal riches, but it also created a rising lower class of property-less laborers and a series of severe depressions known as "panics," trapping many Americans in never-ending cycles of poverty.

Who benefited the most from the market revolution?

Most American farmers' living circumstances improved as a result of the market revolution. For example, a mattress that cost $50 in 1815 (when nearly no one possessed one) cost $5 in 1848. (and everyone slept better).
