What is the scale factor of ABC to XYZ?

Mathematics

we know that

Triangles ABC and XYZ are similar

so

The ratio of the corresponding sides are equal, and this ratio is called the scale factor

\frac{XY}{AB}= \frac{YZ}{BC}= \frac{XZ}{AC}

substitute the values

\frac{9}{45}= \frac{12}{60}= \frac{7}{35}= \frac{1}{5}

therefore

<u>the answer is the option C</u>

\frac{1}{5}

Answer:

Option C is correct.

\frac{1}{5}

Step-by-step explanation:

Scale factor is defined as the ratio of the image

In triangle ABC and triangle XYZ:

\angle A = \angle X = 96^{\circ}   [Angle]

\angle B = \angle Y = 35^{\circ}   [Angle]

AA similarity states that  the two triangles have the corresponding angles that are equal in measure.

by AA  similarity we have;

Triangle ABC and triangle XYZ are similar.

Then by definition of similar triangles:

Corresponding sides are in proportion:

\frac{AB}{XY}=\frac{BC}{YZ} = \frac{AC}{XZ}

Scale factor: The reduced ratio of two corresponding sides of a given triangles.

then;

\frac{AB}{XY} = \frac{1}{k}

Substitute the given values:

\frac{45}{9} = \frac{1}{k}

Simplify

\frac{1}{k} =5

or

k = \frac{1}{5}

Therefore, the scale factor of triangle ABC to triangle XYZ is: \frac{1}{5}

you want to mail a gift that is in the shape of a rectangular prism with the dimensions 25 cm by 32 CM by 40 cm .what is the min
Mkey [24]
Check the picture below.

notice, the gift box is just 6 rectangles stacked up to each other at the edges,

left and right, two rectangles of 32x40

top and bottom, two rectangles of 25x32

front and back, two rectangles of 25x40

so, just get the area of all 6 rectangles, add them up, and that's the "surface area" of the rectangular prism, and that's how much paper will be needed to cover it.

How do you know that a =6 is a solution to a+5=11?
Gre4nikov [31]

a + 5 = 11

You need to isolate the variable by subtracting from both sides

a + 5 - 5 = 11 - 5

a = 6

The Addition/Subtraction Property of Equality states that if you add or subtract the same number to both sides of an equation the two sides still remain equal.

7400 dollars is placed in an account with an annual interest
Anastasy [175]

Answer:

17

Step-by-step explanation:

We have the following equation for compounding annual interest

AV=PV(1+i)ⁿ

We have

19200=7400(1+.06)ⁿ

Solve for n

divide both sides by 7400

2.594=(1.06)ⁿ

then use the following rule for exponents

x^y=z\\log_xz=y

which means that

log_{1.06}2.594=n

Solve and get

16.362

which rounds to 17
