____________________________________________________

There were many problems that reformers tried to correct in the United States and Western Europe, and they wanted to solve this so the different nations could be a better place for the people that live in it. Here are some of the problems that they were trying to correct.

Problems:

-Alcohol Abuse

-Abuse of a spouse

-Faith

-Anti Slavery

____________________________________________________

Explanations:

Alcohol Abuse:

One of the problems that reformers tried to correct in the United States and Western Europe was Alcohol Abuse. This is referring to the rough times that people were in, and they were sad, so they found out alcohol was a way to not feel sad. This was a big problem because people were using a lot of alcohol during their time, so they had to fix that problem immediately before the usage of alcohol gets even worse.

Abuse of a spouse:

Another problem that reformers tried to correct in the United States and Western Europe was the abuse of a spouse. During their time, the husband in the marriage felt like they had more superiority over their wife, so they abused them. The husbands felt like if the wife didn't do something that they tell them to do, they have every right to punish them for it. This is showing the time where men were believed to have more superiority over women, and the reformers wanted to fix that.

Faith (religion):

Another problems that reformers tried to correct in the United States and Western Europe was Faith. This was one of the main problems that they wanted to solve. The reason why they wanted to solve this problem was because political rulers during their time period wanted more power, and that power would be used to change the church, the catholic church to be exact, and people didn't like that, they already liked how the church was and wanted to stay in their belief. The political rulers were possibly trying to take religion away from them, and they didn't want that to happen. This is one of the problems that they believed was the most important to fix.

Anti-Slavery:

One of the last problems that reformers tried to correct in the United States and Western Europe was Anti-Slavery. People during their time agreed that there should be slavery, and they wanted slaves to work for them. But, there was a lot of other people that didn't like the sound of slavery and were against it. Reformers were for slavery, so they wanted to make everyone agree for slavery, and this was a problem that they wanted to fix because that's what they believed in.
