1. Judicial Nominations

While the President can propose nominees for the Federal Court system, including the Supreme Court, the US Senate is given the right to advise and make a decision about whether or not to consent.

2. Treaties

While the President can negotiate treaties on behalf of the US, the Treaties must then be ratified by the US Senate before they can be put in effect.
