The founding ideals of the United States of America include democracy, rights, liberty, opportunity and equality. These five ideals are reflected in the country’s foundational documents such as the constitution of the United States of America and the declaration of independence.

The concept of EQUALITY is found in the 14th Amendment of the constitution which was added in 1868. It affirms that individuals shall enjoy equal protection of the law and no state shall deny anyone of that within their jurisdiction.  

Individual RIGHTS are contained in the Bill of Rights, which constitute the first ten amendments to the Constitution of the US.

Freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of religion, and freedom of assembly are the key LIBERTIES rightly guaranteed by the constitution.  

The constitution promotes OPPORTUNITY through regulation of property and wealth redistribution.

Several elements of the constitution of the US reflects the principle of DEMOCRACY by supporting one person, one vote.
