Homeostasis depends on the activity of body systems to adjust a variable. Because our bodies work so well to maintain variables

at set point, we often do not even notice the systems they use to do it. But in someone who is ill, these systems may not be able to maintain homeostasis; you need to be aware of this to head off possible problems. Which of the following are body systems that can directly impact fluid balance?
.

a)throat muscle

b)urinary system

c)respiratory system

d)muscles

e)hearing

f)sweat glands

g)reproductive system

Answer: body systems that can directly impact fluid balance includes:

b)urinary system

c)respiratory system

f)sweat glands.

The correct option is B, C and F.

Explanation:

Homeostasis is the mechanism by which the body maintains a steady ( constant) internal physical and chemical conditions. The following variables needs to be kept in equilibrium for optimal functioning of the body system. They includes: the body temperature, fluid balance, blood sugar levels. These variables are in turn controlled by one or more regulatory systems which includes;

- urinary system:when blood volume gets too low or blood electrolytes get too concentrated, the kidneys can retain water thereby decreasing urine output. When blood volume or pressure is too high, the kidneys can excrete more water thereby increasing urine output.

- sweat glands: this regulates both fluid and temperature.

I hope this helps. Thanks

Answer: Urinary system and sweat glands

Explanation:

Homeostasis is simply the maintenance of a stable internal environment. Therefore, to ensure fluid-balance:

I) the urinary system does the following:

- selective reabsorbtion of nutrients such as glucose, amino acids, sodium, calcium from the urine to electrolyte balance

- excretion of concentrated urine during high temperature to prevent dehydration, while large volume of dilute urine during low temperatures (cold weather) to prevent excess body fluid

II) the sweat glands does the following:

- excretion of heated water from body cells through sweat pores in the skin to aid cooling of body organs.

- dilation of blood vessels (vasodilation) to allow sweat production; constriction of blood vessels (vasoconstriction) during cold to allow water retention in the body.

Which statement is TRUE of an archaeological survey?
Maslowich

Answer:

The correct option is A.

A. Small test pits can be conducted in an undisturbed part of the surveyed area to find buried artifacts that may not be readily seen on the surface.

Explanation:

This is because archeological survey refers to the study , exploration and digging of sites to obtain archeological remains. The basic sim of this is to get remains that are not visible to man underneath.

usually , the sites are dug out by a shovel so as to determine whether the soil contains any archeological emains that cannot be seen on the surface. This involves the action of excavating the out something or remains especially an archaeological site.

If meiosis didn't happen, how many chromosomes would be in each human cell after three generations of cell division?
7nadin3 [17]
Meiosis does not occur in archaea or bacteria, which generally reproduce via asexual processes such as binary fission. However, a sexual process known as horizontal gene transfer involves the transfer of DNA from one bacterium or archaeon to another and recombination of these DNA molecules of different parental origin.

What kind of interaction do you think the prairie dogs have with the rattlesnakes?
nika2105 [10]
Rattlesnakes would eat a prairie dog if they could catch it. However, if a rattlesnake approached a prairie dog colony, the prairie dog's "sentinels" would alert the rest of them, and they would hide in their holes. A rattlesnake could fit into the holes, but I don't think that snakes usually actively seek prey (they act more like a trap, waiting for prey to come to them).

Which of the following is the raw material from which sedimentary rocks are formed?
Sloan [31]

D. weathered remains of other rocks

Explanation:

The raw material from which sedimentary rocks are formed are from the weathered remain of other rocks.

Sedimentary rocks are rocks that are derived from the deposition of rock fragments and precipitations in basins.

 • Most sedimentary rocks are clastics. They are products of rock fragments that have been weathered.
 • Some are chemical rocks that forms from the precipitation of minerals from solutions.
 • Weathering is the physical disintegration and chemical decomposition of rocks to form sediments.
 • The sediments are used to produce sedimentary rocks when carried away and deposited in basins.
