An experience that helped me understand my [teachers/parents] were right would be once when I was [age]. I was feeling [upset/frustrated/confused] because my [parents/teachers] told me I [couldnt/shouldnt] do [action]. Later on, I [did action/saw someone else do action] and was [shocked/understanding/relieved/hurt] by [outcome]. This made me realize that my [parents/teachers] were right.
