Maxwell’s vegetarian tacos require 34 tablespoons of chili powder for every 12 pounds of vegetables. How much chili powder will
Crazy boy [7]

Answer:

2 1/4

How?

Set up a proportion. The proportion will be teaspoons of chili powder over pound of vegetables.

Because of the above, the first proportion will be:

x is 3/4 and y is 1/2. Across from that proportion make another one

x is "n" because you're trying to figure out how much chili powder you need. y is 1 3/4.

Multiply 3/4 and 1 3/4, which is 9/16. Then, divide 9/16 and 1/2, which is 9/8. Simplify it to 1 1/8, and Maxwell will need 1 1/8 teaspoons of chili powder.
