Alright so I thought of it like this. 30 is 30% of 100
divide 30 in 1/2 you get 15. divide 100 in half to make it proportional. And you get 50.
But another more mathematical way is as follows
So you have your 15
Then you convert your percent into a decimal. 30% converts to 0.30
Divide your 15 by the converted percentage...so ex: 15/0.3
calculate and it should equal 50.
So 15 is 30% of 50

Carly got her haircut for $45.60 she wants to tip her hair dresser 15% what is her total paid?
egoroff_w [7]

Answer:

$52.44

Step-by-step explanation:

Long method:

1. Convert the percentage into a decimal (15/100 = 0.15)

2. Multiply the decimal by the cost of the haircut (0.15 x $45.60 = $6.84)

3. Add this product by the cost of the haircut ($6.84 + $45.60 = $52.44)

Quicker Way (easier w/ a calculator)

1. Add 100% to the percentage she wants to add (100% + 15% = 115%) You can also express this as a number (115/100 = 1.15)

2. Multiply this new percentage by the cost of the haircut (1.15 x $45.60 = 52.44)

In a single equation, it would be

\frac{115}{100}  \times 45.60 = 52.44

The school counselor needs to meet with students who have more than three absences. Here is some of the data about the students.
frosja888 [35]

Answer:

The individuals in this data set are students. This data set contains 2 variables, 1 of which is quantitative.

Step-by-step explanation:

Individuals are the people or things described by a data set.

Variables are characteristics of the individuals that we measure or observe.

Categorical variables take on values that are labels or categories, and quantitative variables take on numerical variables.

The individuals described by this data set are students.

The characteristics listed--homeroom teacher and absences--describe each of the students, not teachers or counselors.

One of the variables--absences--is quantitative.

What is the inverse of f(x)=(x+6)2 for x≥–6 where function g is the inverse of function f? g(x)=x√−6, x≥0 g(x)=x−6−−−−√, x≥6 g(x
avanturin [10]

Answer:

g(x)=\sqrt{x}-6, x>=0

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x)=(x+6)^2

To find the inverse function , replace f(x) by y

y=(x+6)^2

Replace x with y and y with x

x=(y+6)^2

Solve the equation for y

take square root on both sides

+\sqrt{x} =y+6

Now subtract 6 from both sides

+\sqrt{x}-6=y

replace y with g(x)

g(x)=\sqrt{x}-6
