Costa Rica strongly promotes ecotourism, which is a form of alternative tourism which aims to achieve economic gain through natural resource preservation. This provides developing countries with the opportunity to earn foreign exchange without destroying their environmental resource base.

Costa Rica has changed its relationship with the environment, being the first tropical country in the world to reverse deforestation. Currently, the nation has more than half of its territory covered by forests, while in 1983, the remaining areas were only 26% of the total.

The country adopted measures to reward rural producers who reestablished native forests, invested in environmental education and instituted environmental reserves. The best of this is that Costa Rica has adopted these measures, transforming the preservation into financial benefits, that is, without any detriment to the economy, on the contrary, concluding that forestry activities correspond to 2% of the country's GDP, according to study by the World Bank in 2012.

In short, Costa Rica provides a lesson in sustainable environmental preservation to the world, especially to countries that deforest to stimulate agribusiness, such as Brazil.

Why is the argument of missile defense in the nation of Cuba a non-starter?
k0ka [10]
The argument of missile defense in the nation of Cuba is a non-starter because the USA will never willingly allow a nation that is so close to its territory, and is an ally of its arch enemy, Russia, to have such a defensive system installed, because it will also mean that Russia may use Cuba as its military base and threaten the USA territory at any moment, from close proximity, and also they will have a protection by any attack as a response.

What was scientific racism
patriot [66]

Answer:

Since enslaved people were first brought to the US, promoters of anti-Black racism and white supremacy co-opted the authority of science to justify racial inequality. A history of pseudoscientific methods “proving” white biological superiority and flawed social studies used to show “inherent” racial characteristics still influence society today.

This was not unique to the US, however. Examples of scientific racism can also be found in NAZI Germany prior to and during WWII, during which time German scientists produced literature ranking the various races of the world, with Arians at the top and Jews and Blacks at the bottom.
