Media is created by people and institutions and these people or institutions (Magazines, websites, radio, etc.) have pre formed opinions that influence the way that they present information.

Possible questions to ask:
Who is reporting the story?  Do they attempt to verify their information for accuracy before making something public? Do they try for a balanced approach and represent both sides of a story? Is it possible that they are pushing an agenda in the way that they report a story, hoping to influence the public to their opinion?
