Which expression is equivalent to 64y^18-1000z^6?
Shalnov [3]

For this case we must find an expression equivalent to:64y ^ {18}-1000z ^ 6

Then, we take common factor 8:

8 (64y ^ {18}-125z ^ 6) =

By definition of power properties we have to:

(a ^ n) ^ m = a ^ {n * m}

So:

8 ((2y ^ 6) ^ 3- (5z ^ 2) ^ 3)

Since both terms are perfect cubes, we factor using the cube difference formula:

(a ^ 3-b ^ 3) = (a-b) (a ^ 2 + 2ab + b ^ 2)

Where:

a = 2y ^ 6\\b = 5z ^ 2

So:8 (2y ^ 6-5z ^ 2) ((2y ^ 6) ^ 2 + 2 (2y ^ 6) (5z ^ 2) + (5z ^ 2) ^ 2) =\\8 (2y ^ 6-5z ^ 2) (4y ^ {12} + 10y ^ 6z ^ 2 + 25z ^ 4)

Answer:

8 (2y ^ 6-5z ^ 2) (4y ^ {12} + 10y ^ 6z ^ 2 + 25z ^ 4)

Can anybody help me figure out the area of simple composite figure?
zvonat [6]

Given:

The length of the rectangle = 16 ft

The width of the rectangle = 12 ft

The diameter of the semicircle = 12 ft

To find the area of the given figure.

Formula

  • A=A_{1} +A_{2}

where,

A be the area of the given figure

A_{1} be the area of the rectangle

A_{2} be the area of the semicircle.

  • The area of the rectangle = lb where, l be the length and b be the width
  • Area of the semicircle = \frac{1}{2} \pi r^{2}, r be the radius of the semicircle.

Now,

The radius of the semicircle r = 6 ft

Putting, r=6, l=16 and b= 12 we get,

A_{1} = (16)(12) sq ft

or, A_{1} = 192 sq ft

A_{2} = \frac{1}{2} (3.14)(6^{2} ) sq ft

or, A_{2}=56.52 sq ft

So,

A = 56.52+192 sq ft

A = 248.52 sq ft

Rounding off to the nearest tenth, we get;

A=248.5 sq ft.

Hence,

The area of the composite figure is 248.5 sq ft.

Answer:

  4%

Step-by-step explanation:

The amount of simple interest is given by ...

  I = Prt . . . . . amount P invested at annual rate r for t years

This can be solved for r:

  r = I/(Pt)

Using the given values, we find the rate to be ...

  r = 16/(200·2) = 16/400 = 4/100 = 4%

The annual interest rate is 4%.
