If the discount is 30% and the sale price is $206.50 what is the original price

Mathematics

let's say the original price is "x", so that'd be the 100%.

and we know that is discounted by 30%, 100% - 30% = 70%, we know the discounted price is 206.50, so namely 206.50 is the 70% then.

if 206.50 is 70% of "x", what is "x"?

\bf \begin{array}{ccll} amount&\%\\ \cline{1-2} 206.50&70\\ x&100 \end{array}\implies \cfrac{206.50}{x}=\cfrac{70}{100}\implies \cfrac{206.50}{x}=\cfrac{7}{10} \\\\\\ 2065=7x\implies \cfrac{2065}{7}=x\implies 295=x

The volume v of a gas kept at constant temperature varies inversely with the pressure p. If the pressure is 24 pounds per square
daser333 [38]

Answer:

V=12\ ft^{3}

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

A relationship between two variables, x, and y, represent an inverse variation if it can be expressed in the form y*x=k or y=k/x

In this problem

P*V=k

step 1

Find the value of K

For P=24\ psi ,V=15\ ft^{3}

substitute

24*15=k

k=360

the equation is P*V=360

step 2

For P=30\ psi ,V=\ ft^{3}

substitute in the equation

(30)*V=360

V=360/30=12\ ft^{3}

Sally has Christmas lights the roof is 16 feet high the ladder is 20 ft long how far away is letter from wall
lesantik [10]
It should be 12 ft away from the wall. Not 4 ft. You do not just subtract the difference because as you pull it away from the wall, the ladder is mostly moving horizontally with only a small vertical change.

You can use Pythagorean Theorem to find the answer. Think of the ladder as the hypotenuse of a right triangle with the wall and the ground as the legs.

a^2 + b^2 = c^2

16^2 + b^2 = 20^2

b^2 = 20^2 - 16^2

b^2 = 144

b = 12 ft
