What is the purpose of meat tenderizer in dna and rna lab?

Meat tenderizers contain proteases, which are enzymes that break down proteins. In meat, they break down the proteins that make up muscle, softening the meat in the process.

In DNA extraction, they break down the protein core, called a histone, that the DNA is supercoiled around. It's the supercoiling that allows a few meters worth of DNA to be compacted into a microscopic structure, and it also plays a role in gene regulation.

To a lesser extent, the proteases in the tenderizer can break down DNase enzymes (since enzymes are proteins too), which chop up DNA (to protect the cell from some viruses). Normally, the DNase is kept separate from the cell's DNA, but when you add detergent to the cells and break apart the membranes, all of the components can mix together and lead to unintended reactions.

When you break down the histone proteins, the DNA uncoils and stretches out, allowing you to see it and wind it around a stick (if your extraction protocol includes that step).

Answer:

Bacteria that metabolize NO2- to give rise to NH4+ belongs to the family of denitrifying bacteria and nitrate ammonification bacteria such as pseudomonas.

Explanation:

Denitrifying bacteria uses NO2- as electron aceeptor thus converting the nitrite ion (NO2-) to ammonium ion(NH4+).

              a) The above reaction is a reduction reaction because NO2- or nitrite ion accept electron to generated its reduced form known as ammonium(NH4+).

             b) NO2- acting as electron acceptor in this reaction.

True or false the genotype of an organism constitutes its observable characteristics
iren2701 [21]
False

The genotype of an organism does not constitute its observable characteristics but rather its phenotype. A genotype of an organism is the genetic makeup of an organism while the phenotype is the visible characteristics.
It is, however, significant to understand that the phenotype of an organism is as a result of the interaction between the genotype and the environment.

Explain the characteristics scientists use when observing organisms and placing them in the six kingdoms .
Doss [256]
Classification of organisms is done while considering many factors such as:Cell type- whether the organism is prokaryotic or eukaryoticCell structure- This includes both the presence and composition of the cell wallBody type- whether the organism is multicellular or unicellularMode of nutrition- the method through which the organism achieves its nutritional requirement, by consuming other organisms (heterotroph) or making its own food (autotroph)
