30% were unemployed by the start  of 1933.
Zinaida [17]3 years ago
5 0

Answer:

25-30%

Explanation:

1933 was one of the worst years in American history. At this time, America was in the Great Depression. Thanks to overproduction, buying on margin, and the Stock Market Crash of 1929, the US economy crashed during the early 1930's. This resulted in millions of Americans becoming poor or homeless. Due to decreased consumption, businesses closed their doors. This resulted in millions of Americans losing their jobs. This is why the unemployment rate was close to nearly 30% by the time 1933 came around.

Many internees at Manzanar objected to anyone who chose to work for the government by making war materials. Which statement most
weqwewe [10]

Answer:

They believed that internees should not help in the war effort because the internment of the Japanese was unjust.

Explanation:

With the attack on Pearl Harbor during the Second World War, the war in America began to form internally. The Axis powers in which japan was a part of in conflict with the Allied Powers, which included the United States. And as such, action was taken against the Japanese- Americans living/ settling in America.

As it was the Axis powers (Japan) that attacked an American military base, the United States' government began to order the internment of its Japanese-American citizens just because of their physical connection to the enemy. With the attack deemed as a huge threat to the national security of America, every Japanese descent American was ordered to move to the internment camps, leading to a massive round-up. Though it was never a case of trying to 'punish' them for what their home country had done to their adopted country, it was evident that the move was to 'isolate' any Japanese man and restrict any chance of an 'informer' or 'secret agent'.

So, in protest to this order, the internees objected to anyone who chose to work for the US government because the internment was an unjust and unfair act in itself to the Japanese people.

Why were Democrats angry after the presidential election of 1876?
zavuch27 [327]

The 1876 elections infuriated the Democrats because they thought their candidate had truly won.

Democrats believed that Samuel J. Tilden, their candidate, had won the election, which was made worse by the fact that he had a larger share of the popular vote. Rutherford B. Hayes managed to negotiate despite this and win the Electoral college. The votes were settled by an informal, "back-room" agreement known as the Compromise of 1877.

In exchange for the Republicans agreeing to evacuate federal troops from the South, which put an end to Reconstruction, the Democrats granted to Hayes 20 of the disputed electoral votes, giving him an 185–184 win.

Republican Hayes lost the popular vote to Democratic Tilden in the 1876 election, which the Republicans won with 1 electoral vote. People were nevertheless opposed to Hayes' close victory, and many Democrats expressed concerns, which had an impact on Reconstruction.
