A noun clause is defined as a group of words that work as a noun, these clauses are not independent, that means they can't form a complete sentence by themselves, they will always need some other words to make sense.

It's easy the identification of a noun clause, you just have to look for words like how, that, what, whatever, which, whim, why, etc.

But this is not the only way we can identify it from a sentence. In this case the noun clause is acting as an object direct, which is one of her many roles. How can we know this? By making the following question: "What is really true?" and the answer will be: "That water aids digestion."
