Step-by-step explanation:

6) The answer is (d).

We have,

0.00001131 =1.131×0.00001

= 1.131/100000

= 1.131×10^-5.

So, this is correct answer.

7) This question have two answers (b) and (c), both are correct.

(b) 480000-97000

= 4.8x100000-9.7x10000

=4.8x10^5-9.7x10^4

(c) 4.8x10^5-9.7x10^4

= 4.8x10^5-0.97x10^5

= (4.8-0.97) x10^5

=3.83x10^5

Mkey [24]

Answer:

Jonathan gets more time playing video games.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Jonathan's parents told her that for every 5 hours of homework or reading he completes, he would be able to play 3 hours of video game.

Lucas's parents told their son that he could play 30 minutes for every hour of homework or reading time he completes.

Both boys spend the same amount of time on homework and reading this week.

Question asked:

Which boy gets more time playing video games ?

Solution:

Let amount of time spend on homework and reading this week by both friends is 100.

According to question:

<u>For Jonathan</u>

By doing homework or reading 5 hours, he would be able to play = 3 hours

By doing homework or reading 1 hour, he would be able to play = \frac{3}{5} \ hours

By doing homework or reading 100 hours, he would be able to play = \frac{3}{5} \times100=\frac{300}{5} =60\ hours

<u>For Lucas</u>

By doing homework or reading 1 hour, he would be able to play = 30 minutes = \frac{1}{2} \ hours

By doing homework or reading 100 hours, he would be able to play = \frac{1}{2} \times100=50 \ hours

As Jonathan would be able to play 60 hours and Lucas would be able to play 50 hours in terms of 100, hence Jonathan gets more time playing video games.

First of all let total time spend is 100 so that we can compare the playing hours of both the boys and then we used unitary method to find the number of playing hours of each boy and lastly we concluded that Jonathan played more than Lucas.
