Well all you have to do is subtract 19,496 from 39,835. 39,835-19,496=20340 now you have to round to the nearest hundred. Your answer would be 20,300 miles

How do I solve the length of AC?
Crank

♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

∆ABC and ∆ADE are similar triangles.

Thus ;

\frac{AD}{AC}  =  \frac{DE}{BC}  =  \frac{AE}{AB}  \\

So :

\frac{5}{3 + 2x}  =  \frac{4}{8}  \\

\frac{5}{3 + 2x}  =  \frac{1}{2}  \\

Inverse both sides

\frac{3 + 2x}{5}  =  \frac{2}{1}  \\

\frac{2x + 3}{5}  = 2 \\

Multiply sides by 5

5 \times  \frac{2x + 3}{5}  = 5 \times 2 \\

2x + 3 = 10

Thus ;

AC = 2x + 3 = 10

AC = 10

The length of a rectangle is 6 cm less than twice its width. Find the dimensions of the rectangle if its areais 108cm
valentinak56 [21]

L=2w-6

area = L x W

108=(2w-6)w

108 = 2w^2-6w

2w^2-6w-108 = 0

2(w^2-3w-54)=0

2(w-9)(w+6) = 0

w=9

L= 2(9)-6 = 12

12*9 = 108

The function f(x) = 2x 26 represents the distance a flock of birds travels in in miles. The function g(x) = x − 1 represents the
nydimaria [60]

Speed is the ratio of distance and time. When we divide f(x) by g(x) we will get the speed of the flock that is 9 miles/hour.

<h3>What is speed?</h3>

Speed can be defined as the rate of change in the position of an object. It is given as,

Speed = \dfrac{Distance}{Time}

Given to us

Distance traveled, f(x) = 2x+26

Time, g(x) = x − 1

As we know that the ratio of distance and time is equal to the speed of the object. Since the distance traveled by the flock of birds is given also, the time needed for them to travel the distance is also given.

We need to find f divided by g of 5, which is the speed of the flock,

Speed = \dfrac{Distance}{Time} = \dfrac{f(x)}{g(x)}

Speed = \dfrac{f(x)}{g(x)}  = \dfrac{2x +26}{x-1}

Speed = \dfrac{f(5)}{g(5)}  = \dfrac{2(5) +26}{(5)-1}\\\\Speed = 9 \rm\ miles/ hour

Hence, when we divide f(x) by g(x) we will get the speed of the flock that is 9 miles/hour.

◆ Quadratic Equations ◆<br>Please help !
Mila [183]
I'm sure there's an easier way of solving it than the way I did, but I'm not sure what it could be. Never dealt with a problem like this before.

Anyway, I just plugged in and tested. Chose random values for a, b, c, and d, which follow the rule 0 < a < b < c < d:

a = 1
b = 2
c = 3
d = 4

\sf ax^2+(1-a(b+c))x+abc-d)

\sf 1x^2+(1-1(2+3))x+(1)(2)(3)-(4))

Simplify into standard form:

\sf x^2+(1-1(5))x+6-4

\sf x^2+(1-5)x+2

\sf x^2-4x+2

Use the quadratic formula to solve:

\sf x=\dfrac{-b\pm\sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}

For functions in the form of \sf ax^2+bx+c. So in this case:

a = 1
b = -4
c = 2

Plug them in:

\sf x=\dfrac{4\pm\sqrt{(-4)^2-4(1)(2)}}{2(1)}

Solve for 'x':

\sf x=\dfrac{4\pm\sqrt{16-8}}{2}

\sf x=\dfrac{4\pm\sqrt{8}}{2}

\sf x\approx\dfrac{4\pm 2.83}{2}

\sf x\approx 0.59,3.41

So the answer would be A.
