Answer:

Islam means “submission to the will of God”; adherents of Islam are called Muslims. The fundamental belief of Islam is “There is only one God, and Muhammad is his prophet.” Muslims are obliged to pray five times a day, to fast in the daytime during the holy month of Ramadan, to abstain from pork and alcohol, and to make gifts to the poor.

What i’ve been told and have researched,, islam is an arabic word that means submission. the religious context means “submission to the will of god.” “islam” comes from the word “sal’m” which means peace. in their religion vs christianity.. The torah is their book/bible and that they believe there is a Jesus but he was just a messenger from god, not his son while christians believe jesus is god’s son. and they think of God differently than christians do. they believe that they can save themselves rather than what christians believe which is jesus/god save them. christians and catholicism (along with many other religions) use the term God and Allah (however God is used more frequently) while islam really only refers him/they to be Allah.

Kitty [74]

Martin Luther King, Jr.

Martin Luther King, Jr. was the instrumental leader of the civil rights movement; he believed in non-violence and civil disobedience; he was head of the Montgomery Improvement Association (MIA) and then the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC); was born in Atlanta, Georgia to the Rev. Martin Luther King, Sr. and Alberta Williams King. (King was born Michael but in 1934 his father—Rev. Michael King, Sr.—returned home from Europe where he had toured the site where Martin Luther had begun the Protestant Reformation and upon returning home he changed his name as well as his sons.) He graduated from Morehouse College in 1948 at age nineteen and earned his Ph.D. in Theology from Boston University in 1955. King married Coretta Scott on June 18, 1953 and they had four children. While at Crozer Theological Seminary, King first became acquainted with the ideas of Mohandas Gandhi, which influenced him greatly in his future years. In 1953, King became the pastor of the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama. He was selected to lead the 1955 Montgomery Bus Boycott. He was then instrumental in the founding of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC). King led the SCLC in several triumphs over racial injustices and became a symbol of the Civil Rights Movement. His is probably most remembered for his famous “I have a Dream” speech which came at the conclusion the Civil Rights March on Washington which he had spearheaded. King was assassinated on April 4, 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee while he stood on his hotel balcony. James Earl Ray was arrested and convicted of the crime. In 1986.

Which statement about the Supreme Court is true?
Sergio039 [100]

Answer:

E. The court can hear only cases that have worked their way up from local courts.

This statement about the Supreme Court is true.

Explanation:

Clients or entities who are not happy with the jurisdiction and result of the lower courts can apply the request or petition at the U.S Supreme Court to hear their case. One can ask for the review of the case by asking it to grant a "writ of certiorari".

This means the lower court where the case was initially filed has to send a copy to the Supreme court for review. It generally never hears cases as such until the case is of national significance or the result of a case might harmonize a conflicting decision to settle or when it might have precedential value.
