Can you identify the abrupt changes of value in this painting as well? What idea do you think the artist was trying to express with his work?

I think maybe it’s all about from the perspective that the apple sees. to the human eye we see a room first, and then see the details, the first thing i saw when looking at this was the apple. it shows the perspective and the things we find more ‘important’ pop out to us first. So although it may seem strange the apple is the focal point.
