Answer:

The correct answer is: 83% Closest answer would be 80%

Explanation:

Earth´s ice, or scientifically known as Cryosphere, covers up to 10% of total Earth's surface. On 1996 The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) published an early estimation of earth total ice using remote sensing techniques, in that time the data showed that about 10% of total ice is contained in Greenlands Ice sheet, Glaciers and ice caps, the other 90% is located in Antarctica's ice sheets making it the biggest ice reservoir of the Earth. But in 2018 the IPCC published new observations of the cryosphere using new remote sensing technology and stated that from the 100% of total earth ice, Glaciers and ice caps are 5 %, Greenlands Ice sheet is 12% and Antarctica's Ice sheets are 83%, not 90% as it was believed.

If we take into account that almost 80% of Earth's freshwater is stored in the Antarctic Ice sheet then Antarctica is a very important land to be protected and preserved because of its importance to mankind and as it is vulnerable to climate change.

Lelu [443]

Answer:

Ideas culturales.
