Answer:

The line passes through the points ( 0 , 4 ) and ( 12 , 0 )

Step-by-step explanation:

Given equation of line as :

y = - \frac{1}{3} x + 4

Let the points through which the line passes are

( x_1 , y_1 ) , ( x_2 , y_2 )

Now, for x = 0 , The line equation is y = - \frac{1}{3} × 0 + 4

I.e for x = 0 , y = 0 + 4 = 4

So,  ( x_1 , y_1 ) = ( 0 , 4 )

Again , for y = 0 , The line equation is 0 = - \frac{1}{3} × x + 4

I.e  for y = 0 , The line equation is 4 = \frac{x}{3}

Or, for y = 0 , x = 4 × 3 = 12

So , ( x_2 , y_2 ) = ( 12 , 0 )

Hence The line passes through the points ( 0 , 4 ) and ( 12 , 0 )  Answer

Answer:

<em>The points are (12, 0) & (0, 4).</em>

Step-by-step explanation:

The given equation of line is-

    y =  -\frac{1}{3} x + 4...............................(i)

<em>After taking L.C.M. both sides (i.e. Multiplying  by 3 both sides)-</em>

   3 y = -x + 12.................................(ii)

<em>  Let x = 0 in equation (ii)-</em>

<em>      </em>3 y = 12

       y = 4

<em>Hence first point is ( 0, 4).</em>

<em>Now, let y = 0 in equation (ii)-</em>

    0 = - x + 12

    -12 = - x

     x = 12

therefore the points are ( 12, 0).

Hence the required points which passes through the line <em>y = -1/3 x +4</em> are <em>(0, 4) & ( 12, 0)</em>.

820 round to the nearest hundred
grandymaker [24]
Hello! Seeings 20 is less than 50, you then need to round down. If its over 50 then you round up! So if you have 14 its rounded to 10. And if you have 16 round it to 20. So 820 is rounded to 800.

What is the difference in Fahrenheit degrees between a temperature of 0C and a temperature of 15C?
slamgirl [31]

Answer:

27^{\circ}F

Step-by-step explanation:

Use formula

F=1.8C+32

to convert Celsius to Fahrenheit.

When C_1=0^{\circ}C, then

F_1=1.8\cdot 0+32\\ \\F_1=32^{\circ}F

When C_2=15^{\circ}C, then

F_2=1.8\cdot 15+32\\ \\F_2=27+32=59^{\circ}F

Difference:

F_2-F_1=59^{\circ}F-32^{\circ}F=27^{\circ}F

Please can someone prove this equation
zubka84 [21]

Answer:

see explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the trigonometric identity

sin²x + cos²x = 1

Consider the left side

2cos²A - 1 ← replace 1 by sin²A + cos²A

= 2cos²A - ( sin²A + cos²A)

= 2cos²A - sin²A - cos²A

= cos²A - sin²A = right side ⇒ verified
