Joseph Raymond Mccarthy was a republican senator from the State of Wisconsin elected in the year 1947 and continued his post until his demise in 1957. He was the most famous public face during the 1950's, during the era of communist Subversion. He is also known for alleging innumerable soviet and communist who have infiltrated the United States Federal Government, industries and universities.  

McCarthy was practicing the assertation of subversion without any valid evidence and his reign was also termed as the Second Red Scare of the United State that lasted till the 1950's. The era was characterized by anti communalism and political repression. One such accusation was on Rosenberg's which gained a lot of popularity at that time. The Rosenbergs were convicted in charge of spying for the Soviet Union. They were charged in accusation of providing top secrets about radar, jet propulsion, radar, and Nuclear Weapon Design to the USSR. Sentenced of espionage they were executed by the government in the Sing Sing correctional facility of Ossining of Newyork in 1953. Their execution sustained the influence of McCarthy during that era.
