How did the Catholic Church and Catholicism position in French society change under napoleon

History
1 answer:
icang [17]3 years ago
8 0

The relations improved and church was once more an important factor in the society.

Explanation:

  • An important role in Napoleon's politics was to improve relations with the Catholic Church, as he needed the support of Catholics, who were mostly in France, who were dissatisfied with their attitude to the Church since the beginning of the Revolution, and especially because of the "Civic Decree" of 1791.
  • The concordat with the pope (Pius VII) was signed in 1801, and by this agreement the bishops reaffirmed the pope by appointing them a consul; the clergy continued to be sworn to respect for state power, and in return they were paid.
  • Catholicism was recognized as a majority religion, but the same rights were also given to other denominations; no return of church property sold during the Revolution; most of the ecclesiastical orders were restored and the Gregorian calendar was restored.

1. Why do you think this myth that some cultures simply value education more than
stiks02 [169]

Answer:

Because there are cultures that have members that are more academically educated than members of other cultures.

Explanation:

Many cultures have highly educated members and many of them have become academically authorities in several academic and scientific areas such as politics, history, art, mathematics, engineering and others. These cultures carry the legend that they are members are more educated, because the culture has a strong investment in education.

Many cultures have less academically educated members. This gives the impression that this culture neglects the education of its members, giving importance to other forming elements. However, education is not a cultural issue, but a governmental one.

ira [324]

The best answer is  (D)

Tecumseh was a native American Chief of the Shawnee tribe. He was born in 1768 in Ohio. His father was killed in 1774 by white men who were violating a treaty by coming on Shawnee land. He decided to become a warrior and defend his land  and his people.

At the age of 15, he became part of a band of warriors who protected invasion of their lands by attacking flatboats that were travelling from Pennsylvania via the Ohio river.

He tried to unite various Indian tribes to fight against the white men. He was killed in 1813 by American troops and as a result the resistance of the native Indians petered out and ended.

Why did Lincoln only free slaves in the states that were in rebellion and not all of the salves throughout the country
nydimaria [60]

Answer:  Lincoln was wanting to retain the support of some states which allowed slavery but were loyal to the Union.

Historical context/details:

President Abraham Lincoln issued The Emancipation Proclamation as an executive order on January 1, 1863. The executive order declared freedom for slaves in  ten Confederate states in rebellion against the Union.  It also allowed that freed slaves could join the Union Army to fight for the cause of reuniting the nation and ending slavery.

While Lincoln personally was strongly against slavery, he had to tread carefully in his role as president and commander-in-chief.  The Emancipation Proclamation was carefully worded in order to retain the support of four border slave states, which remained in the Union though they were states that permitted slavery, were  Maryland, Missouri, Delaware, and Kentucky.   Lincoln wanted to keep those states loyal to the Union cause.
