What was a likely challenge that arose from the influx of workers into the Sunbelt?
gavmur [86]

The Sun Belt is the area south of the US, that stretches across the Southeast and Southwest, roughly south of the 36th parallel. It is characterized by mild weather and fast economic growth.

The area has seen an increase in immigration since the 1960s, although immigration had been high for decades before that. For example, in the period from 1900 to 1965, the population of California grew from fewer than one million to the greatest in the Union.

Several challenges have arisen from the influx of workers into the Sun Belt. Problems with resources, and in particular water supply, are threatening to the south, as the semi-desert weather is predominant.

Another problem is housing. The price of properties have increased dramatically, as many of the US larger cities are located in this area.

You are reading an articke in your school newspaper that discusses a rising trend in students arriving late to class one of the
Over [174]

Considering this quote, we should take into account that maybe this coach is trying to sell a good image of the students he trains because he does not want to take the guilt of the lateness of the kids to class. Maybe they are late because they are tired of too much training or because they consider more important the sport than the classes so they get to the training on time but not to the lessons. He just does not want to get involved to this problem and he is like "washing his hands" to not be part of it.
