Answer:

The famous translator for conquistador Hernán Cortés was an Indian woman, the so-called La Malinche. Other names for her were Malintzin, Doña Marina. In Mexico, she´s seen as the embodiment of betrayal and lack of love for your own culture and people. She was the daughter of a local tribal chief , but after her father´s death she became a slave, and Cortés got her as a present. Malintzin was very talented for languages; she spoke her own dialect, nahuatl (the tongue of the Aztecs) and several other regional dialects. Cortés saw she could be very useful for his plans of conquest. Malinztin became one of Cortés´ lovers and played a great role in communication between the local peoples and the Spaniards.

Answer: The correct answer is C. Malintzin

Explanation: Malintzin (1500-1527) was a Mesoamerican indigenous woman and daughter of an Aztec cacique, who sold her to the Tabasco culture chiefs with whom she learned the Mayan language. Upon the arrival of Hernán Cortés, she was given to this conqueror along with 19 other young people to be slaves. In this way, she began her relationship with Hernán Cortes as she was his lover and interpreter because she learned Spanish and could understand the idyllic Nahuatl and Maya. Indeed, it is said that she was one of the intermediaries between Cortés and Moctezuma II. So, the correct answer is C. Malintz

Roosevelt's Good Neighbor Policy did not fare well.
True
False
TiliK225 [7]

Answer:

True

Explanation:

The policy's main principle was that of non-intervention and non-interference in the domestic affairs of Latin America. It also reinforced the idea that the United States would be a "good neighbor" and engage in reciprocal exchanges with Latin American countries.

The policy's success was measured in part by the rapidity with which most Latin American states rallied to the Allies during World War II. After the war, however, U.S. anticommunist policies in Europe and Asia led to renewed distrust in the Americas and the gradual lapse of the Good Neighbor Policy.
