  • Nnaemeka was a grown man and wanted to marry Nene. Nene did not belong to their tribe and is pursuing teaching as a career.

  • Okeke thinks that it is violating the teachings of the bible. The conflict between the father and son lasted for 8 years.

  • At the end of the story, Nene sends letters to Okeke stating that her son wants to meet and see him. The end is left in a dilemma that what will be the decision of Okeke.

Thus, the Okeke reconsider bringing Nnaemeka back home is because his grandsons want to meet him.
