First find the slope of the line that passes through (4,-1) and (-2,3) by calculating "change in y" / "change in x"

So slope = -4/6 = -2/3

Remember the format y = mx + b?

So pick any of the two coordinates (I'll use (4,-1)) and sub in what you can.
-1 = -2/3(4) + b
Solve for b and you'll get 1.66666.... aka 1 2/3

So the equation is y = -2/3x + 5/3

Now for the next question.
So 5/2.5 = y/10
cross multiply and simplify and you'll get y = 20

Evaluate the expression.<br> 4(11 + 7) – 9.8
fgiga [73]

Answer:

62.2

Step-by-step explanation:

The order you must follow is Brackets, Division, multiplication,  subtraction.

First, you solve the expression in the brackets.

4(18)-9.8

Then you multiply since there is no division involved here.

72-9.8

And lastly, you subtract

Determine all of the equations that have a solution of x=3
MakcuM [25]

a, b and e

a.

x + 5 = 8 ( subtract 5 from both sides )

x = 3

b

4x = 12 ( divide both sides by 4 )

x = 3

c

\frac{x}{9} = 3 ( multiply both sides by 9 )

x = 27

d

x - 5 = 10 ( add 5 to both sides )

x = 15

e

\frac{x}{1} = 3

note that \frac{x}{1} = x, hence

x = 3
