History

Answer:

Peasants who belonged to their masters almost as property.

Explanation:

Serfs are the landless laborers who are like slaves, but not necessarily given the slave label. They are not free laborers, working the lands of their masters and landowners and in return, they are given protection and a means of survival. And like slaves, they are freely sold, bought or even traded with their owner's permission but within certain restrictions. They can be sold only along with the land and not the person alone. Though they are almost of the same status with slaves of the plantation farms, they have a certain freedom over their own. This practice lasted until the mid 19th century, after which it began to reduce and eventually disappeared. Thus, serfs are those peasants who belong to their masters almost as the same as property.

Why did Spain declare war on England?
alisha [4.7K]

Answer: Spain did not want to be seen as directly assisting a British colony in revolting against its mother country. They feared the repercussions with their own colonies. In June 1779, Spain declared war on Britain under the terms of the treaty with France.
