Get x or y alone in one equation and plug it in for the next. Then save for x/y and plug your answer in to either equation to get the other variable...For Example: 2x+8y=-8 and 4x=-64
4x=-64y
Divide by 4 on each side and get x=-8y
Plug in -8y for x in the other equation and solve for y
2(-8y)+8y=-8
-16y+8y=-8
-8y=-8
y=1
Plug in y to original equation 2x+8y=-8 to find x
2x+8(1)=-8
2x+8=-8
Subtract 8 and get 2x=-16
And solve for x so x=-8
Coordinates: (-8,1)

You multiply both of the equations until you have two of the same term the same like for example, say I have 4x and 5x. You want to multiply until both have the same number, so multiply 5x by four, then multiply 4x by five, and you will get 20x, then both of those cancel out and you will be left with the other variable, and you just solve like a normal equation.

2x² - 5x+1 has roots alpha and beta. Find alpha⁴+beta⁴ without solving the equation.
shepuryov [24]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

\alpha+\beta=\dfrac{5}{2} \\\\\alpha*\beta=\dfrac{1}{2} \\\\\alpha^2+\beta^2=\dfrac{21}{4} \ (see\ previous\ post)\\\\(\alpha+\beta)^4=\dfrac{625}{16} \\\\=\alpha^4+\beta^4+4*\alpha^3*\beta+6*\alpha^2*\beta^2+4*\alpha*\beta^3\\\\=\alpha^4+\beta^4+4*(\alpha*\beta)(\alpha^2+\beta^2)+6*\alpha^2*\beta^2\\\\\alpha^4+\beta^4=(\alpha+\beta)^4-4*(\alpha*\beta)(\alpha^2+\beta^2)-6*\alpha^2*\beta^2\\\\= \dfrac{625}{16} -4*\dfrac{1}{2} *\dfrac{21}{4} -6*(\dfrac{1}{2})^2 \\\\

= \dfrac{625}{16}- \dfrac{168}{16}-\dfrac{24}{16}\\\\\\= \dfrac{433}{16}

g You flip the coin 200 times and observed 80 Heads. Recall from the problem Hypothesis Testing: A Sample Data Set of Coin Flips
Mrrafil [7]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

To be able to draw a conclusion from the data given, lets find out the p value using the t score and this will be used to make a conclusion.

If the p value is less than 0.05 then, we will reject the null but if otherwise we will fail to reject the null.

Using a p value calculator with a t score of 2.83, significance level 0.05 and the test is a two tailed test, the p value is 0.004655 which is less than 0.05 and the result is significant.

This we will reject the null hypothesis H0:p∗=1/2 for this data set.

Someone plz help me giving brainliest
sukhopar [10]

Answer:

1/14

Step-by-step explanation:

1 - 5/7 = 7/7 - 5/7 = (7-5)/7

Subtract. 7 - 5 = 2

= 2/7

Now we have to multiply 2/7 and 1/4

We get 2/7 x 1/4 = <em>1/14</em>
