Get x or y alone in one equation and plug it in for the next. Then save for x/y and plug your answer in to either equation to get the other variable...For Example: 2x+8y=-8 and 4x=-64
4x=-64y
Divide by 4 on each side and get x=-8y
Plug in -8y for x in the other equation and solve for y
2(-8y)+8y=-8
-16y+8y=-8
-8y=-8
y=1
Plug in y to original equation 2x+8y=-8 to find x
2x+8(1)=-8
2x+8=-8
Subtract 8 and get 2x=-16
And solve for x so x=-8
Coordinates: (-8,1)

You multiply both of the equations until you have two of the same term the same like for example, say I have 4x and 5x. You want to multiply until both have the same number, so multiply 5x by four, then multiply 4x by five, and you will get 20x, then both of those cancel out and you will be left with the other variable, and you just solve like a normal equation.

Find the domain and range of f(x)=|x|+ cos x<br>I need help ASAP
Firdavs [7]

Answer:

Domain All real x.

Range f(x) >= 1.

Step-by-step explanation:

The domain is all real numbers.

|x| is always positive.

At x = 0:

f(x) = |0| + cos 0

= 1  which is the minimum value.

Find the radius of a circle is the circumference is 50.24cm. (Hint: Use C=2 x pi x radius to work backwards. Use the following s
g100num [7]

Answer:

r = 8 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Circumference of circle = 50.24 cm

                         2πr         = 50.24

                    2 * 3.14 * r   = 50.24

                                   r = \frac{50.24}{2*3.14}=\frac{5024}{2*314}\\\\\\\\

                                  r = 8 cm

I need help! This is too hard
Galina-37 [17]
To start, this is an interest problem, meaning you will have to use I=prt where I is the total interest, p is the principle amount, r is the rate, and time is the amount of time in years. Since you know the principle rate is $1200, the rate is 3.9%, and the time is 8 months, you can plug this into the formula. However, keep in mind that you have to convert 3.9% to a decimal before putting it into the formula and the time must be represented in years. 3.9% represented as a decimal would be 0.039 and 8 months would be represented as 8/12 or 2/3 (since there are 12 months in one year). Now that you have this information, plug the values into the formula: i=(1200)(0.039)(2/3). When simplified, you get your answer as $31.20.

What is the product of 0.4 and 0.9
a_sh-v [17]

Answer:

0.36

Step-by-step explanation:

0.4=4/10

0.9=9/10

9/10 times 4/10= (9 times 4)/(10 times 10)=36/100=0.36

Another way you could've done it was to see that since there are 2 decimal points there, the product would also have to have 2 decimal points.
