Why did only some southerners support republican reforms?
andre [41]
After the end of the Civil war, the Republican party was left unchallenged in its authority over the country. It then started the process of Reconstruction of the South. This was faced by vehement opposition from the majority in the South that had supported the Confederate course. Those that supported these reforms were those that had been marginalized in the slavery system in the South. Others that supported the reforms projected to benefit from economic opportunities created by carpetbaggers looking to assert their authority in the south... :)

Tamiku [17]

Answer:

public junkyard

garbage

rots

Explanation:

The letter is from a concerned resident to the editor of a magazine or newspaper where he complains about the bad state of the Castle Park which is the playground for the children of the community that was given to them by the community groups. In the letter, he is bitter that the city government refuses to take responsibility and restore the structure, neither will they allow citizens to make repairs.

The words that give the piece a negative tone are public junkyard. garbage, and rots.
