What is a universal theme? What are some universal themes in "The Odyssey?"

A universal theme is an idea that can be shared with anybody, regardless of cultural differences. They are ways to connect to ideas to different people. The universal/main theme(s) of "The Odyssey" is that about a hero that is brave, hospitable, and loyal.
