Answer:

(A)Many people throughout Latin America live in extreme poverty.

(D)Drug cartels have become very powerful and wealthy.

(E)Latin American refugees are fleeing cartel-controlled areas.

Explanation:

Latin American countries are currently experiencing a variety of social and economic problems. These countries are experiencing high levels of poverty and violence, with some more serious situations, such as Venezuela experiencing social chaos, Argentina and Brazil experiencing severe economic crises with high unemployment. Latin America is the place where most drugs are produced, so these countries saw a strengthening of the cartels. Because of this situation of social and economic chaos, people in these countries are fleeing to safer areas that are not controlled by cartels like the US.

What happened after the Greeks won the Battle of Marathon?
GuDViN [60]

a)  They sent a runner to Athens to tell them of the victory and he said, "Victory is ours!" and then died of exhaustion is your answer.

The Battle of Marathon was well known, because while Athens was able to beat the much stronger Persian army, it was also where the term "marathon", and the event that "marathon" is used to describe was born.

The runner that they sent ran non-stop (typical of a marathon) from the battle field to Athens to deliver the news of victory. However, after getting there & delivering the news, he died, possibly from exhaustion.
