Given that,

"Triangle ABC is a right triangle.

Point D is the midpoint of side AB

Point E is the midpoint of side AC.

The measure of angle ADE is 68°."

Angle DAE is 90^\circ

Using the Triangle Sum Theorem of triangle ADE,

Angle ADE +Angle DAE +Angle DEA = 180°

Angle DEA = 180° -68°-90°= 22°

Again that Segment DE joins the midpoint of AB and AC.

DE is parallel to BC.

Thus Angle ECB is congruent to the angle AED.

So Angle AED = 22°= ECB.

Thus the measure of angle ECB is 22°.

Since DE || BC, and AC is a transversal,

∠AED and ∠ECB are congruent.

In ΔADE, since two angles are given, the third angle can be found by using Triangle Sum Theorem.

So, ∠AED = 180° - (68° + 90°)

= 180° - 158°

= 22°

Hence, the correct statements and reasons are:

Corresponding angles are congruent

Triangle Sum Theorem

Measure of angle AED is 22°

The performance of a cyclist in a race is affected by whether it rains or not that day. The probability the cyclist crashes is 5
ZanzabumX [31]

To solve this problem, we have to consider the fact that if the probability that the cyclist may crash due to some circumstance. The probability the cyclist doesn't crash at any given day is 3/8

<h3>Probability</h3>

The probability the cyclist crash when it's wet or dry will be the

P = P_w_e_t * P_d_r_y

  • P(wet) = 5/8
  • P(dry = 1/8

The probability the cyclist crash on any given day is

P = \frac{5}{8}*\frac{1}{8} =\frac{5}{64}

we can subtract 1 from the value above to find the probability the cyclist doesn't crash at any given day

P = 1 - \frac{5}{64} \\P=\frac{3}{8}

The probability the cyclist doesn't crash at any given day is 3/8

At a concession stand, five hot dog left parenthesis s right parenthesis and four hamburger left parenthesis s right parenthesi
mezya [45]
Hotdogs = $1.00
hamburgers = $1.75

5 hotdogs + 4 hamburgers = $12.00
4 hotdogs + 5 hamburgers = $12.75
hotdogs = x
hamburgers = y

5x + 4y = 12
4x + 5y = 12.75
subtract the second equation from the first:
(5x + 4y = 12) - (4x + 5y = 12.75) =
1x - 1y = -0.75
x + 0.75 = y ( this means one hotdog plus $0.75 equals one hamburger)
now substitute "y" for "x + 0.75" in either equation to find x ( I used the first equation)
5x + 4y = 12
5x + 4( x + 0.75) = 12
5x + 4x + 3 = 12
9x + 3 = 12
9x = 9
x = 1 ( one hotdog costs $1.00)
now substitute 1 for "x" in either equation to find y ( I used the first equation again)
5x + 4y = 12
5(1) + 4y = 12
5 + 4y = 12
4y = 7
y = 1.75 ( one hamburger costs $1.75)

checking answers with either equation ( input $1.00 for hotdogs and $1.75 for hamburgers):
equation 1:
5 hotdogs + 4 hamburgers = $12.00
5($1.00) + 4($1.75) = $12.00
$5.00 + $7.00 = $12.00
$12.00 = $12.00 ✔

equation 2:
4 hotdogs + 5 hamburgers = $12.75
4($1.00) + 5($1.75) = $12.75
$4.00 + $8.75 = $12.75
$12.75 = $12.75 ✔

The cost of a coffee maker is $76.70 the markup is 20% of the cost. What is the selling price of the coffee maker?
Dmitrij [34]

Answer: The selling price of the coffee maker is $92.04

If the original cost is $76.70 but the company wants to make profit from the product, meaning they want to sell it higher than what they purchased it for in order to gain money, then you add the markup cost to the original cost (20%).

$76.70 + 20% of $76.70

=$76.70 + $15.34

=$92.04 selling price of coffee maker.
