In Erikson's eight stages of psychosocial development, which of the following is the positive outcome of the fifth stage, called
Inessa [10]

Answer:

developing awareness of uniqueness of self and knowledge of roles

Explanation:

According to Erikson's eight stages of psychosocial development, the fifth stage which is referred to as the identity vs confusion stage, occurs between the age of 12 and 18 years of an adolescent. This is the stage where the question of "who I am" is being answered. The individual tends to explore their independence as they develop a sense of self.

At this stage, the main developmental conflict that the adolescent is faced with is developing a personal identity. Once this is successfully done, the positive outcome of this stage is successful development of a strong sense of self that can last through the life of the individual.

The positive outcome of the fifth stage is developing awareness of uniqueness of self and knowledge of roles.

As discussed in the text, President Barack Obama, the son of a white Kansan mother and black Kenyan father, is widely perceived
-BARSIC- [3]

Answer:

The fact that Barack Obama is largely perceived as a black man is illustrative of Option B : The one drop rule.

Explanation:

The one-drop rule originates from laws that were passed in some states like Tennessee and Virginia in the early 20th century. These laws held that any person with some degree of sub-Saharan African ancestry (for example, having "one drop" of black blood) is considered to be African American or black. It is also an example of what is called hypodescent. This means that children of mixed ancestry or race, in this case, are automatically assigned to the social category with lower status.
