Bhanubhakta Acharya is one of the great poet of Nepal . He was the first person to write in Nepali language.

In 1814 Bhanubhakta Acharya was born in Tanahu district that was located in western Nepal. He was taught at home and his first teacher was his grandfather Shri Krishna Acharya. Bhanubhakta was the first person to translate Ramayana to Nepali.

Bhanubhakta became adikavi not because he was the first Nepali poet but he was first poet who used Nepali as writing style. Bhanubhakta Acharya first gave a new perspective to Nepali in literature writing.
