Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

(x + y +z)^2 = x² + y² + z² + 2xy + 2yz + 2zx

x = a/3

y = -b/6

c = -1

[\frac{a}{3}-\frac{b}{6}-1]^{2}=(\frac{a}{3})^{2}+(\frac{-b}{6})^{2}+(-1)^{2}+2*\frac{a}{3}*\frac{-b}{6}+2*\frac{-b}{6}*(-1)+2*\frac{a}{3}*(-1)\\\\\\=\frac{a^{2}}{9}+\frac{b^{2}}{36}+1-\frac{ab}{9}+\frac{b}{3}-\frac{2a}{3}

AleksandrR [38]

Answer: The answer is the first bubble

Step-by-step explanation:

1. When you identify the pairs you get: { ( -5,-4), (-1,5), ( -5,3) , (7,8) }

2. When figuring out whether or not it is a function, you have to see if there are any same y values. If there is no y values that are the same, then the relation is a function.

3. This relation is a function.

* Also, if you have a relation that has the two or more of the same x values, the relation is still a function no matter what.

Sleep Deprivation

In a recent study, volunteers who had 8 hours of sleep were three times more likely to answer correctly on a math test than were sleep-deprived participants.

(a) Identify the sample used in the study.

(b) What is the sample's population?

(c) Which part of the study represents the descriptive branch of statitics?

(d) Make an inference based on the results of the study?

Solution

A. The samples used is the hours of sleep and math test scores of the volunteers

B. The samples population is hours of sleep and math test scores of people in general

C. The part of the study that represent the descriptive branch of statistics is "three times more likely"

D.Inference: To perform well in a math test, a person should get at least 8 hours of sleep the night before.

Need help with this!!!!!!!!
zzz [600]
The linear combination method is the same as the elimination method.  Let's multiply the second equation by -2 so the x terms cancel each other out. When we do that we get a system of 2x-3y=13 and -2x-4y=8.  The x-terms cancel each other out giving us -7y=21 and y = -3.  Now sub -3 into one of the equations to solve for x.  x+2(-3)=-4, and x - 6 = -4.  x = 2.  So the solution for our system is (2, -3)
