How are common denominator and common multiples alike and different
miskamm [114]
A common denominator is when the denominators (bottom number) of two fractions are the same. Fractions must have a common denominator to be added or subtracted.
A common multiple is when two numbers can be multiplying to the same number. Ex) A common multiple of 3 & 4  is 12
       A common multiple of 6 & 2 is 18
You would need to know the common multiples of numbers in order to make fractions have a common denominator.

A stainless steel patio heater is a square pyramid. The length of one side of the base is 23.8 in. The slant height of the pyram
vovangra [49]
The height of the heater is about 89.3 in.

You can solve this problem with the Pythagorean Theorem. The base is a square. So half way across the middle will the right under the tip of the pyramid. We can use the measurement with the slant height to write and solve the equation below.

23.8^2 + x^2 = 90.1^2
x will be about 89.3.

Find the surface area, and please show me steps so i can understand this myself !
Luba_88 [7]

Answer:

The surface area of the triangular prism is approximately 401.582 square feet.

Step-by-step explanation:

The figure represents a triangular prism, the procedure for calculating the surface area of the entire figure consists in adding the areas of each face (3 rectangles and 2 triangles):

A = 2\cdot \left[\frac{1}{2}\cdot (9\,ft)\cdot (4\,ft)\right] + (16\,ft)\cdot (4\,ft) + (9\,ft)\cdot (16\,ft) + (16\,ft)\cdot \sqrt{(9\,ft)^{2}+(4\,ft)^{2}}A \approx 401.582\,ft^{2}

The surface area of the triangular prism is approximately 401.582 square feet.
