In these lines, Anne Frank uses the device of flashback. Flashback refers to an event that happened before the present time of the narrative. In this case, Anne is telling us that in the present, she has her diary and is writing, but that in the past, her birthday happened. And she goes on to tell us about her birthday. This shows that the memory structure is one of flashback.
