How did the experiences of minorities in America during the 1950s compare to the experiences of white citizens?

English

Not well. Very good. It depends.

The 1950s were the most stilted era I've lived through. Women were just beginning to exercise their power, which had nothing to do with getting the vote. That was only the beginning.

Added to which the men coming home from the war for the most part wanted conformity and rigid standards. War time housing was developed. So this was the era that flourished with traditional families, white appliances, TVs and the nest out in the suburbs. That for the most part was the white experience.

The minorities did not fare as well, but America was rich and flexing her muscles. Five % of the world's population controlled a much greater % of the wealth. The black population was still feeling the effects on being a minority and not sharing equally in the American dream. They did not share in life in the suburbs. In fact they were openly opposed: if they moved into the burbs, they were told in no uncertain terms they were not welcome.

Antisemitism was at a peak even after the Holocaust became generally known. Jews were not liked and were treated in many cases, very inhumanely (banned from resorts, from some schools, from some sports activities and in general as a subspecies of the human race).

Perhaps I am not correct in saying this, but the most enslaved class through out history is perhaps females. They were encourage to stay out side of the main society and be "Good Wives and Mothers." They were. But there was more to life than being Doris Day. And they began their journey into independence.

C. The cool colors create a sense of peace.

Explanation:

It shows that the use of colours in a painting resembles to the mix of the emotions which includes all types of feelings like anger, love, irritation, excitement, surprise, shock and so on. A sense of excitement is created as to notice and feel the different colours and the emotions which they express. Different colours have different aspects and attributions which they resemble and portray and thus these colours makes the painting more engrossing and exciting. The use of light colors (Cool colors) gives a sense of peace in our mind whenever we notice it that why the inner walls of our home are always decorated with cool colors to give ease to our mind and body.

Peter is writing a love letter to Helen, and he has decided that the word thin is not exactly the right word to use at one point
Novosadov [1.4K]

Answer:

Explanation:

Well anorexic is not exactly an endearing quality. If Helen is svelte, she would hardly like to be called anorexic. The former means that she is exotic in a very attractive manner as well as being athletically thin. That's a real compliment. Anorexic is a disease caused by undereating.

He should be sensitive to how she things about language and how careful she is. D might be a factor.

She would hardly care how anorexic originated. It's not something she likely wants to be associated with.

If the word has a hidden meaning form denotation, then it is something to consider carefully. Skinny is an example. Scrawny is even worse. Helen would not like to be called either of those. They have a disagreeable meaning associated with them.

I'm not sure what the proper interpretation of thematic form of a word is. I know what a theme is, and it does not sound very romantic, unless he's going to go on forever about her thinness which is not very smart.

I would choose B. Don't use words that have hidden meanings or obvious connotations.
