List two events that occur in the us history that fueled manifest destiny
Andrei [34K]

Answer:

Economic: Acquiring more land would've given more opportunity to current and future settlers. Reaching coast to coast would be better for trade, as well as getting people to settle in these areas with like the homestead act (easy to settle near sources of water and fertile land, rather than midwest)

Social: Manifest destiny is seen as a god given right to america at this point, each president that pushes it, believed and persuaded people into believing this. Reaching coast to coast is also a goal(Similar to like the moon landing) in its impact.

You can say that it is caused by the annexation of texas, mainly due to support for annexation began to form at this point. As well as their land disputes with britain, causing a rise in patriotism and the newly co'ined term 'manifest destiny'

Give me two reasons why you believe the Second Amendment (Right to Bear Arms) is important to you as a person.
Vaselesa [24]
1. Freedom. Taking away a persons right to bear arms is taking away part of a persons freedom.

2. Protection. Since when do criminals keep the law? They will find ways to get guns, and when they do, we will be unable to protect ourselves.

I think what we should do, is before a person buys a gun, we should make a complete background check, but I don't think we should EVER have our freedom taken away.

Critical Thinking: Can you think of any complaints that modern women would include in a list of grievances?
SVETLANKA909090 [29]

Answer:

-Discrimination at work place

-Wage gap

-Social expectations to have children

-Domestic violence

-Assault danger

Explanation:

Women are still not socially seen the same as men. Society has different observations and expectations of women and men, and there are some dangers and obstacles that are specific to the female gender. Some of the problems modern women can list are:

 • Job discrimination – in various countries, a wage gap still exists and women are still less paid than men. This happens even in Western countries. Women are also more likely to be laid off the job when they get pregnant and need parental leave.
 • Expectations as a mother – the role of women are still connected with the idea of motherhood. In cases when women do not want or can’t have children, she is often the subject of social discrimination (considered to be selfish and incompetent). It is as if her true natural role is not completed.
 • Assault danger – many women are in danger of assault. Women are the main victims of domestic assault, as well as in greater danger when they are walking alone, during the night, etc. There are specific assaults and people that target only women.
