The anger of Achilles upon learning the death of Patroclus motivates him in his battle with Hector. He<span> seeks revenge for the death of his friend, </span>Patroclus<span>. Hector was able to kill Patroclus because Patroclus disobeyed the order of Achilles and chased the enemies all the way to the gates of Troy where he was slain.</span>
