Hello

It is a visual thing. You can see how big or small the fraction is. So the one that is shaded the most in the fraction strip will be the largest fraction, and the one that is shaded the least is the smallest fraction.

(V2.00)<br>Rewrite f(x) = -2(x - 3)2 + 2 from vertex form to standard form.<br>
Mashutka [201]

Answer:

The standard form of the quadratic equation is f(x)=-2x^{2}+12x-16

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

The standard form of a quadratic equation is

f(x)=ax^{2}+bx+c

we have

f(x)=-2(x-3)^{2}+2

convert to standard form

f(x)=-2(x-3)^{2}+2\\f(x)=-2(x^{2} -6x+9)+2\\f(x)=-2x^{2}+12x-18+2\\f(x)=-2x^{2}+12x-16

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average weekly pay for a U.S. production worker was $441.84 in 1998 (The World
Oksanka [162]

Using the normal distribution, it is found that a production worker has to make $542.64 a week to be in the top 30% of wage earners.

<h3>Normal Probability Distribution</h3>

In a normal distribution with mean \mu and standard deviation \sigma, the z-score of a measure X is given by:

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma}

  • It measures how many standard deviations the measure is from the mean.
  • After finding the z-score, we look at the z-score table and find the p-value associated with this z-score, which is the percentile of X.

In this problem:

  • The mean is of \mu = 441.84.
  • The standard deviation is of \sigma = 120.
  • The lower bound of the top 30% is the 70th percentile, which is X when Z has a p-value of 0.7, so <u>X when Z = 0.84.</u>

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma}

0.84 = \frac{X - 441.84}{120}

X - 441.84 = 0.84(120)

X = 542.64

A production worker has to make $542.64 a week to be in the top 30% of wage earners.

What is the slope of the segment shown for a staircase with 10-inch treads and 7.75-inch risers? As you walk up (or down) the st
s2008m [1.1K]

The formula for slope is

Slope = Rise / Run = Risers / Treads

Slope = 7.75 in /10 in = 0.775

The slope Is 0.775.

The vertical distance is not continuous, thus it is discrete. A discrete function only allows certain points in the interval. When you walk up or down the stairs, the vertical distances are not continuous because of the treads. You cannot stay also mid-air, so it should be discrete. An example of a continuous function would be when you walk up or down an inclined plane.
