Answer:

b) emphasizing that his only goal was to save the Union.

Explanation:

While Abraham Lincoln is well known for his debates with Stephen Douglas and played an important role in the discussions about slavery he was not an abolitionist. Lincoln was a nationalist that would do anything for the states stay together and avoid a war in the Union. He said in the First Inaugural Address:

" I declare that “I have no purpose, directly or indirectly, to interfere with the institution of slavery where it now exists. I believe I have no lawful right to do so, and I have no inclination to do so.” Those who nominated and elected me did so with full knowledge that I had made this, and many similar declarations, and had never recanted them.".

HELP PLEASEEEEE 25 POINTS. WILL GIVE BRAINLIEST Why did many colonists protest the Stamp Act?Think also of the colonial argument
Arada [10]
The colonists protested the Stamp Act because they were being taxed without representation in Parliament. They had no say in the taxes that they had to pay, which lead to much anger and conflict among the colonies. They didn’t understand why they still had to pay taxes if they were no longer living in Britain or being represented as part of Britain’s government.

PLEASE HELP!!??
Stels [109]
Well let me explain it to you like this: Industrial revolution affected the north a great deal and was all pretty much positive except for the problems that came when immigrants started to coming in. The only problems were the labor unions that formed when the workers decided they wanted more pay and better working conditions and the wealthy wanted to increase profits in their businesses. In the South there were many struggles when it came to segregation and discrimination. The economy was being rebuilt. The population was low and it didnt seem like a great place to be during this period. In the midwest there were also labor unions like in the north but they like the north also had many positive things come out of the revolution. In the West their transportaion was great with the transcontinental railroad and there economy base was agriculture but they had problems when immigrats from China came in and offered to work for less wages. The best parts to be living at that time were the North or Midwest because their economy was booming, the cities were expanding. Hope this works good for you
