Answer:

B. The monster.

Explanation:

Mary Shelley's gothic novel "Frankenstein" is the story of a young scientist named Victor Frankenstein and the monster he created. He had wanted to learn and know about the source of life, thereby ending in the creation of the monster that he then detests.

This excerpt or dialogue is said by the monster in Chapter 12 of the text. The monster had been in hiding, but after he came to realize that the humans tend to be horrified by his appearance, he decided to completely stay out of their sight. He had been living secretly in a small hovel adjacent to a cottage where a poor young couple were living. He observes that  they were poor, leading the young woman to become sad often. He also notices that they "<em>possessed a method of communicating their experience and feelings to one another by articulate sounds</em>", and that "<em>the words they spoke sometimes produced pleasure or pain, smiles or sadness, in the minds and countenances of the hearers</em>."

kodGreya [7K]

Answer:

Atticus who represented a great lawyer committed to his profession

Explanation:

In the book To kill a mockingbird the author Harper Lee who published this literature piece of art in 1960, chose carefully all the names for the character that represent this story, even the name of the book has an important meaning in the development of the plot. The mockingbird in the story is the representation of the innocence destroyed by the devil.

Another symbolic function inside this masterpiece could be the name of Atticus who represented a great lawyer committed to his profession and for whom it was of great importance to defend Tom Robinson, since for him it was of huge importance to treat everyone with equality. His name was of great significance in the story, since it came from the Greek word Attikḗ, a very common expression used by the Greek Solon, who was the encouraged one of establishing the democratic laws in such region.

As it is possible to see, the author chose carefully his name, not in a random way, he did it in a manner in which the meaning of the name was correspondent to the passionate sense of the character for a life based in democratic justice.
