N + 4 / 3    = 1 / 3

Multiply both sides by 3 :

3* ( N + 4 / 3 ) = 3 * ( 1 / 3 )

∴

N + 4  = 1

Subtract  4 from both sides:

N + 4 - 4 = 1 - 4

N = - 3
