<span>Year Lawn Care Fee
2000 $750
2010 $1350

A. Initial value = $750 as it is given

Rate of change = (final value - initial value) / time = (1350 - 750)/10 = 600/10

= $60 per year

B. Let x be year in business since 2000, y be current yearly value

y = initial value + rate of change x year

y = 750 + 60x

Here, Series: 750, ............... 1350

It's an A.P. where, a = 750 a(11) = 1350

We know, a(n) = a + (n - 1)d
1350 = 750 + (11 - 1)d
1350 - 750 = 10d
600/10 = d
d = 60

In short, Rate of change would be; $60 per year.

B.) y-y1 = m(x - x1)
y - 750 = 60(x - 1)
y - 750 = 60x - 60
y = 60x + 690

In short, Your Equation would be: 60x + 690

Hope this helps!

If using the method of completing the square to solve the quadratic equation
lara [203]

Answer:

x² + 7x + 10 = 0

Subtract 10 from both sides

x² + 7x = -10

Use half the x coefficent (7/2) as the complete the square term

(x + 7/2)² = -10 + (7/2)²

   note: the number added to "complete the square" is (7/2)² = 49/4

(x + 7/2)² = -10 + 49/4

(x + 7/2)² = 9/4

Take the square root of both sides

x + 7/2 = ±3/2

Subtract 7/2 from both sides

x = -7/2 ± 3/2

x = {-5, -2}

Which quadratic equation has the roots -1+4i and -1-4i
AysviL [449]

Answer:

C

Step-by-step explanation:

Solve the quadratic in answer choice C using the quadratic formula:

x=\frac{-b+/-\sqrt{b^2-4ac} }{2a}.

Here a=1, b=2, and c=17.

Substitute and you'll have:

x=\frac{-b+/-\sqrt{b^2-4ac} }{2a} =\frac{-2+/-\sqrt{(-2)^2-4(1)(17)} }{2(1)}=\frac{-2+/-\sqrt{4-68}}{2)}

\frac{-2+/-\sqrt{-64} }{2}=\frac{-2+/-8i }{2}=-1+/- 4i
