People who immigrated from Europe were not generally highly skilled. They left their homeland because of the life they were living there. Some left because of crop failure, job shortages, rising taxes, and famine. After coming to America, immigrants stayed in town with their community and went to work together. Immigrants people worked as laborers (workers) in factories, who did not require high skill for the task given to them.
